Who Should Consider This Test?
Anyone with persistent or severe allergy symptoms, a known history of anaphylaxis, or difficulty controlling symptoms with over-the-counter medication may consider an allergy test. If you are a UK resident, Allergy tests are also available (free of charge) through the NHS via a GP or specialist referral. A skin prick test, blood test and oral food challenge are common allergy tests. Results can help diagnose allergies and help you take steps to manage allergy symptoms. This is NOT a skin prick or patch test. It is a finger prick blood allergy test conducted through blood analysis using a registered independent lab.
How to Prepare for the Test
Clinic Visit:
This test requires you to be on an empty stomach one hour prior to your appointment. Water is allowed. If you are taking any medication it should not affect your test, however you should check with your GP or practitioner to ensure it is okay for you to take a test or fast. This test is not suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. This test is not suitable for anybody under 4 years old.
In order to take this test, you will need to give us a call to arrange an appointment at our clinic. You will receive your results after 10 days, both printed copy and emailed. You may show this report to your GP or health practitioner for further advice.
